About

Opened in 2013, the Allianz Riviera is the home of OGC Nice. Designed by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte for Euro 2016, it was conceived as a multi-purpose venue with several features intended to reduce its environmental impact: a photovoltaic roof, a geothermal system and rainwater harvesting. It has also hosted matches at the 2019 Women's World Cup and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The guided tour runs from the Aiglons' dressing room to the edge of the pitch, taking in the VIP areas and the spaces reserved for the press. It lasts between 1 hr 15 and 1 hr 30. The meeting point is in front of the Musée National du Sport. The tour can also be combined with a visit to the museum.

Tours start at 10.30am, 2.30pm or 4pm, according to a schedule published online.

The Allianz Riviera was designed to be a thoroughly eco-friendly stadium. With much of its structure built in timber and a large array of solar panels, the ground is meant to generate three times more energy than it uses. An unusual project, then, and one perfectly in step with the times.
