About
After nearly fifty years at Vista Alegre, Girona FC built Montilivi, which opened on 14 August 1970. Set in motion at the start of the 1967-68 season, the project was meant to provide four times as much space as the old ground and give the club a permanent home. Designed to hold 17,000 spectators, the stadium's capacity has come down over the years as it was modernised and seats were installed behind the goals.
The guided tour takes you through the stands, including the directors' box, the press room, both dressing rooms, the tunnel, the pitch and the bench. Allow around forty minutes. The club runs the tour during certain periods of the year.

Montilivi hosted its first Champions League match on 2 October 2024. That day, Girona FC lost to Feyenoord Rotterdam after a thrilling game (2-3). David Lopez, a defender then aged 34, became the ground's first ever Champions League goalscorer.
