About

Opened on 12 August 1923 as the Red Stadium, the NSC Olimpiyskiy hosted Dynamo Kyiv's league matches from 1953 until early 1966. The redevelopment launched in August 2008 for Euro 2012 gave it a glass facade, a membrane roof and 69,004 seats. Dynamo now play their league matches at the Dynamo Valeriy Lobanovskyi Stadium.

In 2012, Dynamo offered a one-hour tour taking in the club and national team dressing rooms, the players' tunnel, the pitch and the museum. Today the club publishes neither a tour route nor opening times for the NSC Olimpiyskiy.

Did you know?

With a capacity of 70,050 since its 2011 renovation (ahead of Euro 2012), Kyiv's Olympic Stadium could once hold... 100,062 spectators back in the 1970s! At the time it was one of the largest grounds on the planet: 105,000 people packed in on 6 October 1975, when Dynamo Kyiv hosted Bayern Munich in the second leg of the UEFA Super Cup. Two goals from Oleg Blokhin later, the Ukrainians won 2-0 and lifted the trophy.
