About

Manchester City have played at the Etihad Stadium since August 2003, after eighty years at Maine Road. Built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games, the ground was then converted into a football stadium. Today it sits at the heart of the Etihad Campus, which brings together the stadium and the City Football Academy, among other facilities.

The tour lasts around 1 hour 15 minutes. It starts at Gate M and takes in the first-team dressing room, the press room, the glass players' tunnel, the pitchside, the dugouts and the Tunnel Club. Some stops may change depending on the day's schedule.

Did you know?

The very first goalscorer at the Etihad Stadium was a Frenchman. In August 2003, in a friendly between Manchester City and FC Barcelona, it was indeed Nicolas Anelka who first found the back of the net at the Manchester ground. A name forever etched into the stadium's history.

J'ai visité l'Etihad Stadium avec des amis l'année dernière et j'en garde un très bon souvenir. Le guide donne pas mal d'anedoctes sur les joueurs (leurs habitudes, leurs superstitions) et nous fait découvrir les coulisses des Citizens (vestiaires, salle de sport, salon VIP). Impressionnant de voir le matériel high tech dont dispose le staff. L'entrée sur la pelouse était scénarisée, comme s'il s'agissait d'une vraie équipe, ce qui a beaucoup plu aux enfants présents ce jour-là. Je recommande !
