About

Opened on 19 February 1910, Old Trafford is the home of Manchester United. Nicknamed the Theatre of Dreams, it was badly damaged by bombing in 1941 and reopened on 24 August 1949 once rebuilt.

The visit combines the Manchester United museum, spread over three floors, with the stadium's behind-the-scenes areas, from the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand to the players' dressing room, the tunnel, the substitutes' bench and the press room. Allow around two hours in total, including 70 minutes for the stadium tour. The museum and the Stadium Tour welcome visitors from Sunday to Thursday, 9.30am to 4pm, and Friday to Saturday, 9.30am to 5pm, except on home matchdays.

Did you know?

It was Bobby Charlton, Manchester United legend and England international of the 1950s and 1960s, who gave the ground its famous nickname: the Theatre of Dreams. The phrase captures perfectly the swirl of emotions this wonderful arena has in store, where you can go from euphoria to tragedy in a heartbeat.
