About

Hampden Park is Scotland's national stadium. The present ground in Mount Florida opened in 1903, when Queen's Park beat Celtic 1-0 in the inaugural match. Scotland have played their home games here since 1906, and the stadium has also staged major European finals. In 2002, the Champions League final saw Zinédine Zidane score against Bayer Leverkusen.

The stadium tour takes in the dressing rooms, the warm-up area, the players' tunnel, the pitchside and the steps climbed for trophy presentations. It lasts between 45 minutes and an hour. The Scottish Football Museum then rounds off the experience. From Monday to Friday there is a single departure on opening days, at a time that varies. On Saturdays and Sundays, tours set off at 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3pm.

Did you know?

Before its most recent redevelopment in 1999, which brought it to 51,866 seats, Hampden Park was far bigger and could take more than a hundred thousand people for a single match. Its attendance record, set in 1937, says it all: 149,415 spectators for a Scotland v England fixture. Simply incredible!
