About
Opened in 2006, the Emirates Stadium took over from Highbury, Arsenal's home for 93 seasons. The first senior match played there was Dennis Bergkamp's testimonial, before Arsenal's first competitive home game at the ground, against Aston Villa on 19 August 2006.
Allow around an hour to explore the Emirates Stadium at your own pace, plus another thirty minutes or so for the museum. The tour starts at the Armoury. The museum closes only on Christmas Day. Opening times may change on event days.
Did you know?
The first man to score on the Emirates Stadium turf was not an Arsenal player. At Dennis Bergkamp's testimonial in July 2006, it was Dutchman Klaas-Jan Huntelaar who opened the scoring for his club Ajax Amsterdam, writing himself into the ground's history along the way. Even so, the Gunners went on to win 2-1 that day, with goals from Thierry Henry and... Kanu, back as a guest for the occasion. Legendary stuff.
