About
Built for the London 2012 Games in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the London Stadium is the former Olympic stadium of the British capital. It is now home to West Ham United and UK Athletics, while also hosting rugby, baseball and major concerts. In football configuration it holds 62,500 spectators.
The guided tour lasts around an hour and takes in the West Ham dressing room, the players' tunnel, the pitchside area and several panoramic viewpoints. Building work or events may, however, leave some areas closed to visitors.
Did you know?
In a Europa League qualifying round against Slovenian side Domzale, Senegalese midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate wrote himself into West Ham's history at the Olympic Stadium in London. The first Hammer to score there and the first to bag a brace on that pitch, the Dakar native will forever have his place in the club's record books. West Ham, for their part, ran out 3-0 winners that day.
